Financial Aid FAQs

Will increasing my family size on the FAFSA® increase my financial aid?

It depends; each individual situation is different, and until the change is applied to your situation, we won’t know how it will affect your aid.

If you already have a Student Aid Index (SAI) of 0 to -1500 and are receiving the maximum Pell Grant, increasing your family size or changing your marital status will not increase your federal Pell eligibility.

Even if your aid does not change, we are still required to confirm any updates made to your FAFSA®.
