How Is Pell Grant Eligibility Determined?
Pell Grant eligibility is determined based on financial need, which is assessed through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). The federal government reviews factors such as family income, family size, and assets to calculate a student's Student Aid Index (SAI) - a number used to help determine Pell Grant eligibility. Students who enroll less than full-time will receive a prorated amount of Pell Grant funding based on their enrollment.
