What Is an SAP Appeal for Financial Aid?

A SAP appeal is a formal request asking the Financial Aid Office to reconsider your eligibility for aid.

A complete SAP appeal must:

  • Describe the serious circumstances you faced
  • Explain when the circumstances occurred
  • Include third-party documentation
  • Show that the circumstances are resolved or being effectively managed
  • Explain how your circumstances have changed so you can succeed academically moving forward

An appeal cannot be approved for the same reason or circumstances more than once.
