How does the Verification Process work?
- Check Your Financial Aid Portal
- 3–5 business days after your FAFSA® is processed, check your financial aid portal for any “Required Documents.”
- Missing document emails are also sent to your BYU–Idaho email.
- Submit Requested Documents
- Follow the instructions for each document carefully.
- Some forms must be hand-signed before uploading.
- Upload Files to Your Portal
- Use the upload button under “Required Documents.”
- This helps your sensitive information remain secure.
- Processing Time
- Processing typically takes 3–4 weeks after all required documents have been submitted.
- You’ll receive updates through your BYU–Idaho email if additional information is needed.
- Deadlines
- Submit verification documents by the FAFSA® Priority Deadline for your semester to avoid late fees.
- Late submissions may delay aid disbursement, but won’t disqualify you from receiving aid if you’re otherwise eligible.
- The FAFSA® Federal Deadline is the final opportunity to submit verification.
