Financial Aid FAQs

How to accept student loans?

If this is your first time receiving a federal student loan, you must complete Entrance Counseling and sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) before your loans can disburse.

Once all required actions are completed and your loan is processed, it will automatically pay for your student expenses, including tuition and fees, on your personal financial account.

To accept your loan(s), follow these steps:

  1. Login to my.byui.edu
  2. Click the three lines in the upper left corner
  3. Under “Finance”, click the “Financial Aid Portal” tab
  4. Click “Review & Accept Financial Aid”
  5. Under “Loans,” click “Review & Update”
  6. Choose to accept all, part, or none of the loan.

For a detailed guide with more information, screenshots, and instructions for accepting previously declined loans, visit the Accepting/DecliningFederalLoans page.
