- Set-up eRefund
eRefund is how you receive your financial aid money. By linking your BYU-Idaho personal account. toyour bank account, your extra funds will be deposited into your bank account 2-3 days after they reach your student account.
Get Help Setting Up Your eRefund - Federal Financial Aid Authorization (FFAA)
By selecting "Yes" on the Federal Financial Aid (Title IV) Authorization, you allow the University to automatically pay for charges like books, health insurance, and parking before you receive an eRefund.

Financial Aid processes at different times. If you have completed all requirements, the timeline above is an estimate of when your aid should be reflected in your personal Student Financial Account and automatically applied to tuition charges.
Federal Aid Checklist
Check all these steps to ensure that you receive your aid.
FOR LOANS ONLY:
- BYU-Idaho FAFSA® Priority Deadline
If you turn in your FAFSA® and any other required documents in before the semester's deadline, late fees can be waived. You can still submit the FAFSA® application after the priority deadline. Aid will be disbursed when processing is complete. - Double Check for Missing Documents
Go to your Financial Aid Portal to make sure you're not missing any needed documents that are stopping you from receiving your aid. - Check to make sure you have submitted the correct FAFSA® for the semester.

FOR LOANS ONLY:
- Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note (MPN)
First time borrowers must complete entrance counseling and sign a Master Promissory Note (promising to pay back your loan). Both can be done at studentaid.gov. - Enroll in at least 6 Program Applicable credits.
Aid Processing Status
If the status shows as "paid" in your personal account, you can expect to see your aid reflected in your student account within 24 hours.
In Your Financial Aid Portal:
- Under Financial Aid, click View Details on each scholarship, Pell Grant, or Loan.
- Click on the semester, and then a box will appear with the status of your aid.
- If the Payment status is Scheduled, the aid is still processing.
- If the Payment status is Paid, then the aid has been processed with Financial Aid.
- If there is a canceled award and a second award that is scheduled, the canceled portion can be disregarded.
