What is the FAFSA® Verification Deadline?

The FAFSA® Verification Deadline is the last day you can submit verification documents for the award year. If you fail to submit the required documents by this deadline, you will not be eligible for aid for the award year. Missing the deadline can also require the repayment of funds already received.

The Verification Deadline is based on the last day of the last semester you attended for the award year or the final deadline of September 1st. For the 2025-2026 FAFSA®, your deadline is whichever is earlier: 110 days after the last day of the last semester you attended or September 1st. If Winter is your last semester, see our Dates and Deadlines page for specific semester dates.
