Financial Aid FAQs

How do I apply a private scholarship to my BYU-Idaho tuition?

If you receive a private scholarship, you will need the offering agency to mail a check made out to “BYU–Idaho.” Be sure they include:

  • Your name and I-number
  • A letter specifying the term(s) the scholarship is intended for
  • Any eligibility requirements (such as minimum credit enrollment or minimum GPA)

Once BYU–Idaho receives and processes your check, you will be able to see it in your Financial Aid Portal. After processing, private scholarships are applied to tuition automatically.

Read "Where do I send my scholarship check for a private scholarship?" to find out where to mail the check.
