Financial Aid FAQs

What Happens if I Have a Lot of Scholarships and I Am Eligible for a Pell Grant Using the 2026–2027 FAFSA®?

If your non-federal aid fully covers your Cost of Attendance, you may not receive the Pell Grant or may have to pay it back.

  • The entire award year will be taken into consideration for this new limitation. We are required to evaluate as scholarships come in throughout the year.
    • You could owe Pell Grant back to the government if new scholarships are awarded, which would put your non-government aid over the cost of attendance for the year.
  • Adding and dropping classes can change your cost of attendance

Please visit a financial aid specialist if you are worried about this applying to you.
