How does my BYUI GPA affect my Full Tuition Academic Scholarship over time?
Your Academic Scholarship at BYU-Idaho is tied to your cumulative BYU-Idaho GPA, and how it changes over time depends on whether you are maintaining, upgrading, or falling below the required GPA thresholds.
Maintaining your award:
- If you receive an Academic Scholarship or Full Tuition scholarship, your award will not decrease below the original amount as long as your cumulative BYU-Idaho GPA remains 3.75 or higher.
If your GPA drops below 3.75:
- If you do not maintain a 3.75 BYU-Idaho GPA, you will lose your Academic Scholarship. However, you may still qualify for a Continuing Student Academic Scholarship, which is awarded annually based on your current BYU-Idaho GPA.
If your scholarship level changes:
- If you begin with an Academic Scholarship, later qualify for Full Tuition, and then your GPA drops back to at least 3.75, your scholarship will revert to the original Academic Scholarship amount, not below it.
In short, 3.75 is the key GPA benchmark: staying at or above it protects your original award, while falling below it means your scholarship will be reassessed based on your current academic performance.
