Financial Aid FAQs

Financial Aid Determination Date (FADD)

Be aware of when your aid will be finalized for the semester.

FADD (Financial Aid Determination Date) is the date we check your enrollment to decide your financial aid eligibility for the semester.

  • Dropping classes before FADD may reduce your Federal and University Aid (including scholarships)

Financial Aid is finalized at 11:59 p.m. on FADD.

When is my FADD?

FADD is the 23rd day of the semester.

If your FAFSA is processed after the semester FADD, your Federal Financial Aid FADD may be different. Contact Financial Aid for details.

Scholarships

  • Dropping credits after FADD does not affect university scholarships
  • Adding 2nd block classes after FADD will not increase your scholarship

Federal Aid

Federal financial aid is earned by participating throughout the semester. Dropping classes or stopping participation at any point in the semester may:

  • Change your federal financial aid (Pell Grants and Direct Loans)
  • Create an aid return and a balance on your student account
  • Affect future eligibility under Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

Because every situation is different, contact Financial Aid before making schedule changes.

For more information about dropping classes and federal financial aid returns, see the University Catalog.
