How to Receive Maximum Federal Financial Aid

Registration Is Here!

Follow these Five Simple Steps to ensure that you will receive the maximum amount of federal financial aid you are eligible for:

Your Program (major and any required components) must be officially declared two weeks before the semester begins for financial aid purposes. Changes made after this time could result in a loss of federal financial aid for the upcoming semester. Contact the appropriate Academic Advising Center at the link below as soon as possible if you need to make any changes.
You can view your declared major and catalog year by visiting my.byui.edu, clicking on 'Academic Summary' on the right hand bar, and navigating to 'Degree Information.'
Plan all required courses for your major through graduation. Refer to your catalog year if you have questions about any requirements.
Determine when you are eligible to register and get registered on time. Go to your Student Tab and register for courses.

Federal Student Loans: You must register for at least six program applicable credits.

Pell Grants: You must register for 12 program applicable credits to receive your maximum eligibility.

BYU-Idaho Scholarships: You must register for at least 12 credits (program applicability is not required).

All substitution requests must be submitted by your department to the Student Records and Registration Office by the Add/Drop Deadline (7th day of the semester).
After you have completed registration, use the PAT on your student tab to confirm that your courses are program applicable. A green check-mark indicates program applicability. A red circle indicates a course is not program applicable.
