Student Teaching Grants

BYU-Idaho offers first-come, first-served grants to assist students with student teaching expenses, particularly for those traveling outside the Rexburg area.

About Student Teaching Grants

  • Helps with student teaching expenses but doesn't cover all costs.
  • Awarded based on financial need and teaching location.
  • When combined with other BYU-Idaho Scholarships, can't exceed full LDS Member Tuition.

How To Apply

  • Complete the online Student Teaching Grant Request.
    • Be sure to select "Student Teaching" when completing the form.
  • Include details about your teaching assignment location, rent amounts, and household income.
  • Apply by the deadline:
    • August 15 for Fall semester
    • December 15 for Winter semester

Do You Qualify?

  • You must be a BYU-Idaho campus student without an earned bachelor's degree.
  • U.S. citizens must complete a FAFSA.
  • You must be registered for your Program Applicable student teaching class by the application deadline.

When Will You Receive The Grant?

  • Funds are not added before the semester starts.
  • The grant is added to your student account the first week of the semester.

How Much Could You Receive?

  • Award amounts vary based on financial need and teaching location.
  • Grants are awarded only once, for a single semester of student teaching.
