Scholarship Requirements and Information

Make sure and be aware of scholarship deadlines. To be considered for all available scholarships, BOTH the scholarship application AND FAFSA must be completed by the March 1st deadline EACH YEAR.

Requirements

To be evaluated for ALL BYU-Idaho scholarships, students who are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens must complete the following this school year before March 1st:

  • Scholarship application (Linked)
  • Corresponding FAFSA (Linked)

Example: Students attending during the 2019/2020 school year (Fall 2019, Winter 2020, Spring 2020) must complete the 2019/2020 BYU-Idaho Scholarship application and 2019/2020 FAFSA between October 1, 2018 and March 1, 2019.

International students must complete ONLY the scholarship application before March 1st. DACA students should follow the same guidelines as international students.

Example: Students attending during the 2019/2020 school year (Fall 2019, Winter 2020, Spring 2020) must complete the 2019/2020 BYU-Idaho Scholarship application between October 1, 2018 and March 1, 2019.

Other Requirements

  • All BYU-Idaho students must be meeting the university’s Satisfactory Academic Progress.
  • Students must be enrolled in the correct number of credits before the 23rdday of the semester to prevent losing their scholarship. BYU-Idaho counts all program applicable and non-program applicable credits as enrollment for all BYU-Idaho scholarships (with exception to internship scholarships).

Important Scholarship Information

  • BYU-Idaho scholarships may not be moved or transferred to different semesters. There are no exceptions to this policy.
  • BYU-Idaho scholarships may not be combined to exceed the full LDS tuition rate except for Music or Jack Wheatley Scholarships.
    • Example: Students attending during the 2019/2020 school year (Fall 2019, Winter 2020, Spring 2020) must complete the 2019/2020 BYU-Idaho Scholarship application and 2019/2020 FAFSA between October 1, 2018 and March 1, 2019.
