Top Tip
Make sure and be aware of scholarship deadlines. To be considered for all available scholarships, BOTH the scholarship application AND FAFSA must be completed by the March 1st deadline EACH YEAR.
Requirements
To be evaluated for ALL BYU-Idaho scholarships, students who are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens must complete the following before the scholarship deadline:
- Scholarship application (for Talent Scholarships only)
- Corresponding FAFSA (Linked)
Talent scholarship deadlines are dependent on the department offering them. All other BYU-Idaho scholarships do not have applications; the award is applied automatically. For the Need Based Scholarship, it is recommended to submit FAFSA before March 1st, as they will receive priority.
International students must complete ONLY the scholarship application. DACA students should follow the same guidelines as international students.
Other Requirements
- All BYU-Idaho students must be meeting the university’s Satisfactory Academic Progress.
- Students must be enrolled in the correct number of credits before the 23rd day of the semester to prevent losing their scholarship. BYU-Idaho counts all program applicable and non-program applicable credits as enrollment for all BYU-Idaho scholarships (with exception to internship scholarships).
- BYU-Idaho scholarships may not be moved or transferred to different semesters. There are no exceptions to this policy.
- BYU-Idaho scholarships may not be combined to exceed the full LDS tuition rate except for the Returned Missionary, Music, or Jack Wheatley Scholarships.
For additional requirements for each BYU-Idaho scholarship, please review the individual scholarships listed on the Scholarships Available web page.
