If selected for verification, the required documents will show in the financial aid student portal within 3-5 business days after BYU-Idaho receives the completed FAFSA. Students are encouraged to plan ahead and apply early as some documents may take time to obtain.

The FAFSA must be submitted and received by BYU-Idaho prior to the student’s last day of attendance for the academic year. It can take 3-5 business days for BYU-Idaho to receive a submitted FAFSA. For example, if the student is a Fall/Winter student for the academic year, the FAFSA must be received by the last day of Winter semester.

* June 30th is the federal application deadline determined by the Department of Education

Verification Documents Deadline

Policy requires that any required documents for the 2019-2020 academic year be submitted no later than 75 days after the student’s last day of attendance, or August 14, 2020, whichever is earlier. Failure to submit documents by this deadline will disqualify the student from receiving federal financial aid for that academic year and may require repayment of funds already received. Required documents are found on the financial aid student portal.

BYU-Idaho Thomas E. Ricks Grant Application Deadline:

The priority deadline for the 2019-2020 BYU-Idaho Thomas E. Ricks Grant Application was March 1, 2019. This application will remain open and late applications will only be evaluated for financial need and awarded based on fund availability. The only exception to this policy is for recently returned missionaries. They will be evaluated for financial need and academic achievement and must complete the required applications before the financial aid determination date (FADD) of their first semester back.

The 2020-2021 BYU-Idaho Thomas E. Ricks Grant (Ricks Grant) Application will be open starting October 1, 2019 with a priority deadline of March 1, 2020.
