FAFSA Priority Deadlines

Students can avoid late tuition charges by submitting the FAFSA and any required verification documents by the priority deadlines. If selected for verification, the required documents will show in the financial aid student portal within 3-5 business days after BYU-Idaho receives the completed FAFSA. Students are encouraged to plan ahead and apply early as some documents may take time to obtain.

FAFSA Federal Deadlines

The FAFSA must be submitted and received by BYU-Idaho prior to the student’s last day of attendance for the academic year. It can take 3-5 business days for BYU-Idaho to receive a submitted FAFSA. For example, if the student is a Fall/Winter student for the academic year, the FAFSA must be received by the last day of Winter semester.

* June 30th is the federal application deadline determined by the Department of Education

Verification Documents Deadline

Policy requires that any required documents for the 2018-2019 academic year be submitted no later than 75 days after the student’s last day of attendance, or August 14, 2019, whichever is earlier. Failure to submit documents by this deadline will disqualify the student from receiving federal financial aid for that academic year and may require repayment of funds already received. Required documents are found on the financial aid student portal.

BYU-Idaho Grant and Scholarship Application Deadline:

The 2018-2019 Grant and Scholarship application opened October 1, 2017 and closed February 1, 2018.

The priority deadline for the 2019-2020 Grant application was March 1, 2019. This application will remain open and late applications will only be evaluated for financial need and awarded based on fund availability. The only exception to this policy is for recently returned missionaries. They will be evaluated for financial need and academic achievement and must complete the required applications before the financial aid determination date (FADD) of their first semester back.
