Award Information
Idaho Launch is a grant program provided by the State of Idaho that provides funding to students looking to pursue education in one of Idaho’s In-Demand career fields. The grant covers 80% of tuition and fees, providing up to $4,000 in the first year and a total maximum of $8,000 across all years of funding.

- Proof of Idaho Residency.
- Recently graduated from an Idaho High School or completed a Homeschool or GED program.
- Complete your school district’s approved career path.
- Be enrolled in an in-demand career path at BYU-Idaho.
- Start school fall semester after you graduate high school.
- Missionaries and Winter/Spring tracks should request an extension
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress as specified in program rules.
Application
Other information you will need:
- Your social security number
- Your high school GPA and graduation date
- You and your parents’ demographic information
- The program you plan to pursue
- Link your Next Steps Idaho Account to your Scholarship Idaho account (you may need to provide a launch code from your Next Steps Idaho profile)
- Complete the Idaho LAUNCH Career Pathway Plan bundle in your Next Steps Idaho Account by May 31st

Apply at Idaho LAUNCH - Next Steps Idaho
- Accept your offer and complete all tasks the state requires, including submitting your proof of graduation
- Ensure that your declared program at BYU-Idaho matches the one you have declared in your Idaho LAUNCH portal. BYU-Idaho Major changes need to be processed by the Major Change Deadline. To update your program at Idaho LAUNCH, follow the directions on program changes in this PDF.
- Register for Program Applicable credits.
- Meet SAP requirements.
- If you are going on a mission or assigned the Winter/Spring track, you must submit an extension with Idaho LAUNCH.
What To Do Next
Step 1:
Check your email often for emails from BYU-Idaho and the state and respond quickly, especially in the summer.
Step 2:
The state will send contingent award letters to students who are likely to qualify.
- Contingent means your information must be checked, so be sure to complete the required tasks to be awarded.
Step 3:
Be sure to accept any Idaho LAUNCH grant offers!

- Final Award letters will be sent in June 2025.
- Students must enroll in an approved in-demand program. Your declared Major at BYU-Idaho must match the major you choose on your Launch Portal.

Step 4:
Obtain your LAUNCH portal login from your Final Award Offer email.
- Your Idaho LAUNCH portal is different from your Scholarship Idaho login.
Step 5:
Make sure you have completed all tasks in your Idaho LAUNCH portal.
- Be sure to allocate needed funds to your declared program.
- Make sure your award-associated provider is BYU-Idaho.
Maintaining Your Scholarship

Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements.

Recipients must expend all grant funds ($8,000) within 3 years of the award date.

A break in enrollment of more than 6 months will cancel your award unless you obtain an extension from Idaho LAUNCH.
