About Financial Aid
The BYU-Idaho Financial Aid Office is here to help you understand your financial aid options, process your financial aid, and release your funds to the BYU-Idaho Bursar’s Office. The Bursar’s Office then applies the funds to any charges on your student account and releases any remaining funds to you. Financial aid encompasses all financial resources (i.e. federal grants, student loans, scholarships, etc.)
We want to help you; whether you’re a new freshman, a transfer student, or a continuing student; you can easily understand the financial aid options available for you.
How can I use financial aid money?
Financial aid funds are to be used for educational expenses.
Intended uses: (not a complete list)
- Tuition and class based fees
- Books and school supplies
- Outstanding school balances
- Living expenses
*Certain financial aid awards, such as some private scholarships, have requirements limiting their use to cover tuition only.
What if I have questions?
Our financial aid counselors are available to answer your questions, educate you about financial aid opportunities, and help you through the financial aid process.
Financial Aid Counselors are available on Mondays-Friday from 8am-5pm.
Students may contact a Financial Aid Counselor over the phone, by email, or in person at the Financial Aid Office in Kimball 100.
