Reach Audiences With Printed Materials

Print provides a variety of ways to reach audiences in physical spaces across campus. Flyers, table tents, campus mailers, banners, signs, and other printed materials are reserved communication channels coordinated through University Communications.

Contact your Strategic Communications Coordinator to discuss your communication need and determine whether a print channel is the right approach.

Print Communication Options

Handouts & Small-Format Materials
Flyers, business card-sized handouts, and other small-format materials can support approved communication needs and campaigns.

Table tents provide targeted visibility in approved campus locations and are coordinated as part of an overall communication plan.
Campus Mailers
Printed mailers can reach targeted campus audiences when physical delivery supports the communication need.
Pull-Up Banners
Pull-up banners provide reusable, large-format messaging for approved events, programs, and communication needs.
Sidewalk Signs
Sidewalk signs provide temporary outdoor visibility in approved campus locations.
Light Pole Banners
Light pole banners provide highly visible campus-wide placement and are reserved for select university priorities and campaigns.

Requesting Print Communications

Not every communication need requires printed materials. When another channel would be more effective, your coordinator can help identify an alternative approach.

Usage Guidelines

Coordinate Before Creating
Contact your Strategic Communications Coordinator before designing, printing, or ordering materials for a reserved print channel.
Choose the Right Format
Match the print format to the audience, message, location, and length of the campaign. Your coordinator can help determine which option best supports the communication objective.
Keep the Message Focused
Design print materials for their environment. Prioritize one primary message and make important information and calls to action easy to find.
Follow BYU-Idaho Brand Standards
Printed materials should follow BYU-Idaho standards for logos, colors, typefaces, photography, illustrations, and other brand elements.
Plan for Production Time
Allow enough time for strategy, design, approval, printing, delivery, and installation when applicable.
Distribute Flyers Only in Approved Locations
Flyers may be distributed only from a reserved campus booth or, with permission, from a department’s front desk. Do not leave flyers unattended on tables or distribute them while moving through public campus areas.
Campus posters are a separate, self-service communication channel. Use Design Conductor to create or submit a poster for approval and placement.

Flyers should not be handed out while moving through the Crossroads, hallways, lobbies, sidewalks, or other public campus areas. Schedule an approved booth and distribute flyers from that location instead.
