Usage Guidelines

Approved department logos help individual university areas remain recognizable while maintaining a consistent connection to BYU-Idaho. Follow these guidelines whenever using a department logo.
Use Your Approved Department Logo
Always use the official logo file provided for your department, office, college, or program.
Maintain the Logo’s Appearance
Use department logos only in their approved configurations and colors. Maintain the logo’s proportions when resizing it, and keep the surrounding area clear of text, images, and other graphic elements.
Do Not Create a Separate Logo
Do not create, recreate, or modify a logo for a college, department, office, program, or academic society. Use the approved department logo system rather than developing a separate visual identity.
Get Approval Before Pairing Logos
Do not place a department logo alongside another organization’s logo without approval from University Communications. Logo pairings can imply a partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement.
No. Keep the department logo unchanged and treat the event or campaign name as separate content in the design. Some university-sponsored events or campaigns may qualify for a custom mark. Contact University Communications for guidance.
No. Colleges, departments, offices, and programs should use their approved department logos rather than creating separate logos, icons, or visual identities.
No. Academic societies are represented through the approved BYU-Idaho brand system and should not create separate logos or icons.
