All Employee Conference

Friday, February 2, 2024

On Friday, February 2, 2024, BYU-Idaho and the Employee Engagement Council sponsored the 10th Annual BYU-Idaho All Employee Conference. The conference continues to focus on developing attitudes and skills that will help individuals become better employees of BYU-Idaho and better disciples of Jesus Christ.

The theme for the 2024 conference was “Teach and Amplify BYU-Idaho’s Message” (a subject President Alvin F. Meredith III spoke about during his Inaugural Address). The conference was held in person and online (using Zoom as a learning platform).

The university provides this opportunity each year in order to:

  • Provide a gathering opportunity for BYU-Idaho employees
  • Facilitate networking and the exchange of ideas
  • Provide employees with opportunities for development
  • Encourage employees to engage in lifelong learning
"Hopefully your education will provide a foundation for lifelong learning. Two reasons that we should continue to learn are to grow and to increase our capacity to serve others. Brigham Young said, 'Our education should be such as to improve our minds and fit us for increased usefulness; to make us of greater service to the human family."
James D. Gordon III, BYU-Idaho Devotional, 16 June 2009

All teams, departments, and organizations change. It’s inevitable. And while some individuals are more receptive to changes than others, there are things that can be done to help everyone embrace and thrive in seasons of change, but only if the structural, human, political, and symbolic implications of changes are addressed by those who influence the changes. This session will present Bolman and Deal’s (2017) 4 Frames to attendees and help them explore how considering these frames can help them plan changes that are more easily adopted and implement in any situation in which changes occur and people exist. Bonus: If you have a change you’re considering implementing, bring the idea with you and we’ll use it to practice with the four frames.
