Retirement Plus Plan

Employer Discretionary Retirement Contributions (EDRC) is an employer-only contribution plan through which BYU-Idaho contributes a percentage of your eligible annual compensation into an account for retirement.

EDRC Vestment

Employees hired after April 1, 2010, are eligible to participate in the Employer Discretionary Retirement Contributions (EDRC). Contributions to the EDRC begin immediately with employment. All funds in the account belong to the employee as soon as the contributions are made.

EDRC Contributions

BYU-Idaho contributes a percentage of your eligible annual compensation into the EDRC account. Right now, BYU-Idaho contributes 3.5 percent (8 percent for employees hired after January 1, 2021) equivalent of your compensation in the account each paycheck.

Preset Mixes

You can choose how your EDRC account balance is invested by choosing one of the five preset mixes offered by DMBA:

Stock Only (12+ years)

Long-term ((12+ years)

Intermediate-term (5 to 11 years)

Short-term (0 to 4 years)

Current Income (0 to 15 years)
