Do I owe money back if I drop a class?

You might lose some of your financial aid—it depends on several factors, including whether you participated in the class, when you dropped it, your total credits, your award offer, and the day of the semester.

If you drop a class after the FADD deadline, you will usually keep your aid but receive a “W” on your transcript.

Before dropping a class, contact the Financial Aid office to find out how it could affect your aid. You can reach them by calling (208) 496-1411, emailing financialaid@byui.edu, or visiting them in person in Kimball 196.
