Trip Manager Responsibilities
Outdoor trip managers are employees who develop trip plans and itineraries. Plans are carried out while leading other students in outdoor environments. Some examples of trips are backpacking, hiking, canoeing, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. Additionally, managers may also lead skills clinics such as moccasin making. Most managers spend 5-10 hours a week leading and planning trips.
Trip Manager Training
While no experience is necessary to apply, all managers must be trained before leading any adventures. At a bare minimum, all managers must have wilderness First Aid or CPR certifications plus a campus driving permit. Additionally, all candidates will complete training in soft skills and hard skills offered by Outdoor Activities. These trainings are free for committed candidates.
