Using the End-of-Course Evaluation Automatic Completion Reporting Tool
There is a tool that works with our course evaluation system to automatically report to Canvas whether a student has completed their course evaluation or not.
Note: There are multiple ways for a student to get into the course evaluations. This tool will only return a grade if the student clicked the link in your Canvas course.
If a student has not finished the evaluation for your course, clicking the link will let them evaluate your course and will tell Canvas that they have completed it.
If they have finished the evaluation for your course, clicking the link will tell Canvas that they have finished your evaluation and will not make the student evaluate it again.
Adding the tool to Canvas
- Either create a new assignment or edit the one you currently have assigned. Under submission type, select “External Tool.”
- In the list that pops up, select “End of Course Evaluation.”
- Make sure that you check the “Load This Tool in a New Tab” box.
- Set due dates, point values, and other assignment settings as you desire.
