Animal & Food Science Mentored Research

Mentored Research
This laboratory is a satellite analytical space directly adjacent to the Food Analysis Laboratory, with equipment and glassware shared between the two programs (refer to the Food Analysis facility for additional equipment details). 

The mentored research area provides dedicated bench space to students conducting industry-sponsored or faculty-directed research projects, which may provide academic credit to students through the Food Science Research course. 

Featured Facilities

Laboratory equipment
Students have access to Benchtop centrifuges, nitrogen solvent evaporators (N-EVAP), water baths (conventional, circulating, shaking, etc.), mechanical pipettes, stirrer/hotplates, vortexers, dessicators, analytical balances, and more.
Ancillary items
Students can use chemical fume hoods and the Millipore water purification system for lab research. There are also lab utensils, assorted glassware, and other basic supples for the lab for student use.
