Adassa, best known as the voice of Dolores from Disney’s “Encanto” and as the voice behind the song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” is coming to BYU-Idaho and will be part of the Power to Become Conference. Adassa is a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and says her faith has greatly influenced her career.

Ryan Gardner is a faculty advisor for the Interfaith Leadership Society at BYU-Idaho. The Interfaith Leadership Society aims to foster an attitude of openness and community between different faiths in Eastern Idaho. The society gives students the opportunity to immerse themselves in various religious environments.

Brandie Miguel is the Student Leadership and Events coordinator at BYU-Idaho. She delivered the devotional address on October 3, 2023, titled, “Living the Mission of BYU-Idaho.” In her talk, she discussed three key attributes of what makes a disciple leader and living the mission of the university.

Specialist Bryson Carter is an Idaho Army National Guard Soldier, is a firefighter and a BYU-Idaho student. He recently won a statewide competition to be named Idaho’s Soldier of the Year. He says faith played such a crucial role in his development as a soldier and as a man.

IDAHO FALLS - This weekend the community is coming together at a race event to support an 8-year-old girl suffering from childhood dementia.

Braden Chancellor, an undergraduate curator at the David O. McKay Library at BYU-Idaho, has put together a new exhibit at the library titled, “Controversial Conversations.” The exhibit highlights the trend of book banning that has been widespread throughout the United States, recently. He invites students, faculty and the public to get involved in the conversation as the exhibit showcases the history of book banning the world over.

Benjamin Pacini is a faculty member in the Elementary, Early, and Special Education Department at BYU-Idaho. From a young age, all that he wanted to do was teach, and now he shares his passion with others looking to follow in his footsteps. His journey was one of faith, learning and growth.

SodaVine held a ribbon cutting for the opening of its second location in Rexburg at noon on Tuesday.

In life, each person will face difficult trials, like the loss of a loved one, and sometimes traumatic experiences that could lead to long-term sadness. Each trial can become a learning experience that can help grow a testimony of Jesus Christ.
