East Idaho Home Educators will hold its two-day conference at Idaho State University’s Pond Student Union Building on Friday and Saturday. The conference includes keynote speakers, workshops, a vendor’s market and a used curriculum sale.
Check-in and walk-in registration begin at 8 a.m. on Friday with the keynote address at 9. Topics at the conference include parenting, love and logic, marriage, gender roles and self-esteem, choosing and creating curriculum, health benefits of homeschooling and much more.

"It's definitely geared towards homeschoolers, but even families that just want to improve their home life are welcome to come,” said Megan Lovell, the vice president of East Idaho Home Educators. “It's very educational and a lot of just tips and tricks of the trade to help educate your children and have a good system set up at home."
This is the second time EIHE has held a conference. The first one was in 2023. The organization plans to have them yearly in January.
The conference includes an adult and youth conference. Youth ages 11 – 18 are welcome. The youth conference classes include acting, entrepreneurship, dating, dancing, outdoor survival and more.
Lovell is a second-generation homeschooler and is excited for this second conference. She enjoys the freedom homeschooling gives children in their learning.
"I also think that there's a lot of power in being able to have your children at home to teach them your own principles and the things that you see as important,” she said. “And you can also set it up in a variety of ways, and it really helps children grow up being able to get up different opportunities that maybe you would miss being in a public system.”
The conference also includes entertainment on Friday night.
