Human Resources Compliance Areas

BYU-Idaho's Human Resources department oversees many apsects of faculty, staff, and student employment. These responsibilities include hiring, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and training.

Human Resources understands and meets employment-related compliance requirements mandated by state and federal laws. Compliance areas include:

  • Accommodations of persons with disabilities
  • Equal employment opportunity and nondiscrimination requirements
  • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
  • Federal Drug-Free Workplace requirements
  • International employee issues (eligibility, visa restrictions)
  • Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA)
  • Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA)
  • Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
  • HIPAA
  • FERPA
