Auditions include a range and skills check and some sight-reading or an audition excerpt that will be sent by email to all who have registered for auditions online. Singers called back for Concert Choir or Collegiate Singers may be given 1-2 short choral excerpts to learn and perform during the callback audition, which takes place on the first day of classes.
Vocal Union Audition:
Previous vocal jazz experience is preferred but not required. Two audition options are available: 1) Upload a video of yourself singing 60 sec. of a jazz standard (accompanied or a cappella) to YouTube and send an unlisted link to firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the end of the final day of auditions, or 2) Sign up for an in-person audition using the link provided on this page. *Note: Vocal Union auditions are on a separate tab from the other choirs.

An audition is required to participate in Symphony Orchestra, String Chamber-Sinfonietta, and Baroque Ensemble. No Audition is required for University Orchestra.
Symphony Orchestra auditions for all string instruments are held on the first day of class each semester. Sign-ups for individual audition times are posted outside each string faculty member's office a few days before school begins. Students are encouraged to register for Symphony Orchestra ahead of time. This will grant them access to the audition materials, which typically consist of excerpts from the Symphony repertoire for that semester. Materials are sent to registered students approximately one month before auditions. Contact Robert Tueller for more information about Symphony Orchestra. Acceptance into the String Chamber-Sinfonietta class is handled through the Symphony Orchestra audition process. In other words, one audition covers both Symphony and String Chamber. Contact Dallin Hansen for more information about String Chamber-Sinfonietta.
Auditions for Baroque Ensemble are arranged through Dr. Tueller and are typically held within the first 2-3 days of class each semester.
Percussionists should contact Kevin Meyer for details about ensemble auditions.
