Trombone Faculty

Bryce Mecham received a B.M. degree in Trombone Performance and Pedagogy from Brigham Young University and an M.M. degree in Trombone Performance from Northwestern University where he studied with Frank Crisafulli. He joined the faculty of BYU-Idaho in 2002. Prior to that time he worked in the Salt Lake City area, performing regularly with the Utah Symphony, Orchestra at Temple Square, Utah Chamber Artists, Ballet West, and Utah Opera. He formerly taught at The Waterford School, Weber State University and Utah State University.

Mecham worked extensively in the recording industry and can be heard in soundtracks for major motion pictures and television. He has performed with Broadway Touring Companies and as backup musician with many well known artists. He soloed with the Utah Symphony, the Orchestra at Temple Square and throughout Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong. He maintains an active performing schedule as a backup musician, soloist, and clinician.
