5. Note on Student Examples Cited in This Document

The student comments included in this document come from open-ended follow-up questions embedded in the new End of Course Survey for the Fall 2025 semester. Each student was randomly shown one follow-up question tied to a specific survey item.

These follow-up questions asked students to describe an example of how the teaching practice measured by the survey question was demonstrated in a BYU-Idaho course. The responses were originally collected to help confirm that students understood the intent of the survey questions during survey development.

In this resource, selected comments are used to illustrate what these teaching practices can look like from a student perspective.
