End of Course Survey User Guide
This resource is designed to help you learn more about the End of Course Survey results and how to use them for meaningful improvement.
In this document, you will find general instructions for interpreting the survey data. After that explanation, the following specific concepts will be addressed for each question in the End of Course Survey:
- Why the teaching practice matters.
- Student examples of this principle in action.
- Ways to triangulate your data.
- Ideas for improvement.
If you have an average score lower than a 4 (“Very well”) on a question, consider these question-specific suggestions as a starting point for understanding the question and ideas for improvement.
You do not need to read this document from start to finish. Most faculty find it most useful to review overall interpretation guidance, then jump directly to the questions where they want to reflect or improve.
