Things You Need To Do Before Leaving

Get Back Into Your Account
Connect your device to Duo Mobile to get access to your BYU-Idaho account. Download the myBYUI app to stay connected, access your email, and receive notifications.

Confirm Your Returning Semester
If you deferred, your assigned return semester is listed in your Deferment Portal. If you need to request a change, contact BYU-Idaho Student Support.

Prepare to Register and Clear Holds
Check your registration date in the registration system. Check your account for holds and clear them early.

Renew Your Ecclesiastical Endorsement
Schedule a meeting with your bishop (or mission president if currently serving) to renew your endorsement. You must complete this before you can register for classes.

Find Housing
Apply for housing as early as possible, as availability is limited. You must be eligible to register for classes before you can apply for a contract with Approved BYU-Idaho Housing.

Check-in with Financial Aid
If you previously received financial aid, contact the Financial Aid Office to review or reactivate your aid before registering. Check FAFSA® deadlines to ensure you apply on time.

Receive Your RM Scholarship
Eligible returned missionaries are automatically awarded the RM Scholarship. No separate application is required, and it will be automatically applied to your returning semester's tuition.
Prospective Students
If you are planning on attending BYU-Idaho after your mission.

Apply to BYU-Idaho
You can apply to BYU-Idaho while attending a mission or when you get home.

Accept Your Offer
Applying is quick, but it usually takes 2-3 weeks to receive an answer.

Even if you apply after returning home from your mission, eligible returned missionaries are automatically awarded the RM Scholarship. No separate application is required, and it will be applied to your returning semester's tuition.
