Requirements: Students need to have completed at least Spanish 201 to be eligible.
Dates: The first week of September to around the last week of November.
Cost: Around $5,600; this amount includes BYU-I tuition, airfare, one-third of the homestay cost, souvenirs, and incidentals. Tuition at UBB and two-thirds of the homestay costs are covered under BYU-I tuition.
Accommodations: Students will live with Chilean families in a homestay arrangement with a private room; all meals are provided by the homestay family; they will also take students on occasional excursions.
Church: The El Libertador Ward is near the university and is the designated YSA ward. The Concepcion Temple is 1.5 hours away.
Academic benefit: In addition to a life changing experience learning Spanish in an immersive environment, students will earn 12 credits at BYU-Idaho.
