Who Can Join Collegiate Dancers?
Any student, regardless of major or track, can audition for Collegiate Dancers. Although auditions are available to everyone who maintains a 2.0 GPA, this opportunity is only available in the Fall semester.
For those who make the team, Collegiate Dancers will act as a class in which they must register for at least 1 credit. The credit level won't change the amount of work expected, it will still be the same. A $30 costume fee is required for this course. It is recommended that in addition to Collegiate Dancers, students also take a 200 level or above technique class (DANCE231R - DANCE496R).
The Dance Society hosts Variety Night each week throughout the semester. Participation in these is an opportunity to prepare for all auditions by experiencing various genres of dance. Students are encouraged to be involved, to learn and to enhance skills through participation.

Collegiate Dancer Auditions
September 18 & 19, 2025 in Hart 208
Bring a completed Collegiate Audition Form to the audition.
Come early to the audition and be ready to dance at the times indicated.
Audition information will vary by semester. The fall 2025 audition schedule is forthcoming. All auditions are held by student directors, who hand-select which students will participate in their specific dance numbers.
Certain types of dance may be necessary for auditions. Contemporary, ballroom, and folk/world dance numbers will be available each semester, but the specifics will vary.
Please wear appropriate clothing for auditions. See Dance Attire Standards for more clothing guidelines.
It is highly recommended that all dancers attend the audition information meeting before auditioning.
Rehearsals & Performances
Rehearsal dates/times:
Weeks of September 22 – November 3, 2025
- MWF 4:15 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- T/Th 4:15 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Sat 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Performance dates/times:
- Rehearsals run from week 2 (Sept 22-27) to week 8 (Oct 27-Nov 1)
- Lighting tech rehearsals are on week 9 (Nov 3-10)
- Dress rehearsal is on Monday, November 10
- Performances will be November 11-15

Rehearsal attendance is mandatory for every Collegiate Dancer. Throughout the semester, rehearsals will be held from 4:15 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, depending on your audition choice.
