Who Can Join Collegiate Dancers?
Any student, regardless of major or track, can audition for Collegiate Dancers. Although auditions are available to everyone who maintains a 2.0 GPA, this opportunity is only available during the Winter and Fall semesters.
For those who make the team, Collegiate Dancers will act as a class in which they must register for at least 1 credit. The credit level won't change the amount of work expected, it will still be the same. A $30 costume fee is required for this course. It is recommended that in addition to Collegiate Dancers, students also take a 200 level or above technique class (DANCE231R - DANCE496R).
Students cannot participate on the Collegiate Dancers team and Dance Alliance team in the same semester. For students who are interesting in joining the Stage Crew or interested in Costume or Set Design, your participation is welcome! If you didn't make auditions but would still like to participate, this would be a great way to get involved.

Collegiate Dancer Auditions
September 19 & 20, 2024 in Hart 208
Bring a completed Collegiate Audition Form to the audition.
Come early and be ready to dance at the following times – late arrivals will not be considered.
Audition information will vary by semester, more information and signups can be found below. All auditions are held by student directors who hand select which students to participate in their specific dance numbers.
Certain types of dance may be necessary for auditions. Contemporary, Ballroom, and Folk/World dance numbers will be available each semester, but the specifics will vary each semester.
Please wear appropriate clothing for auditions. See Dance Attire Standards for more clothing guidelines.
It is highly recommended that all dancers attend the Audition Information Meeting before auditioning.
Rehearsals & Performances
Rehearsal dates/times: Weeks of September 23 - November 1, 2024
- MWF 3:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- T/Th 3:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Sat 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Performance dates/times:
- Rehearsals run from week 2 (Sept 23-27) to week 8 (Oct 28-Nov 1)
- Lighting tech rehearsals are on week 9 (Nov 4-9)
- Dress rehearsal is on Monday, November 11
- Performances will be in week 10 (Nov 12-16)

Rehearsal attendance is mandatory for every Collegiate Dancer. Throughout the semester, rehearsals will be held from 3:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, depending on your audition choice.
