Mission Statement

The Recreation Leadership Department provides students life enhancing skills and wisdom to make wholesome recreation choices regarding personal and family leisure time. Students receive outstanding leadership training through adventure education. Majors receive professional preparation for career opportunities. The unique natural resources of the region and department's experiential teaching philosophy provide students with opportunities for personal growth, enhanced self-esteem, ability to manage risk and the development of strong resource protection and service ethics.
