The Movement and Rehabilitation emphasis is designed for students seeking careers in the clinical setting and who need to attend graduate school. This emphasis prepares students for the rigorous, science-driven foundation needed for a career in clinical healthcare. Courses include Applied Kinesiology, Biomechanics for Sport, Sports Medicine, and Exercise Physiology Research.
Throughout the coursework, students will learn about normal and abnormal human movement patterns, appropriate ways to measure movement patterns, and evaluation and prescription for rehabilitative needs. Additionally, students can select from various prerequisite courses that may be required for admission to graduate programs.
This emphasis is ideal for students interested in physical therapy, occupational therapy, chiropractic, and other clinical settings, such as medicine (physician and physician assistant). While this emphasis is probably best suited for those interested in clinical settings, students interested in areas such as strength and conditioning and athletic training will significantly benefit from selecting this area.
