Background

Scott Pope grew up in a suburb of Kansas City. He attended BYU and received a degree in International Relations and a minor in Business Management in 1998. During that time he served two years as a missionary in the Venezuela Maracaibo mission. After college he began his 22 year business career first at his first “real” job with Pfizer and a year later he started working at Sprint in various Finance and HR roles. During that time he completed an MBA from the University of Kansas. In 2008 Scott and his family moved to Seattle where he started working for Microsoft in leadership roles in Finance. Those jobs took him all over the world and he gained a great perspective of what being a global citizen means. His last role there was as Director of Finance for Worldwide Customer Support. In August of 2020, he left Microsoft and moved his family to Rexburg, Idaho to join the Business Management faculty of BYU-Idaho. Scott was lucky enough to marry Traci Lahti from Anchorage, Alaska in April of 1998 in the Bountiful, UT temple. Together they have 4 amazing “kids” who aren’t really kids so much anymore. He has two sons, a daughter in law, and two daughters in high school. He loves outdoor adventures, live music, the NBA, politics and whatever Netflix series he can binge with his wife.
