Business Management and Marketing Internships

About The Internships

What does President Henry J. Erying say about internships?

General information about university requirements and registration for internships can be found on the BYU-Idaho Internship page.

Students must be registered for Business Management or Marketing internships BEFORE the third week of school. Past experience will generally not be counted towards an internship. Business Management and Marketing students are to complete 2 internships: BUS 298R and BUS 398R for Business Management majors, and MKT 298R and MKT 398R for Marketing majors.

All internships must be pre-approved and registered for before the student begins the internship experience. If you are in the U.S. on an F-1 or J-1 visa, you will need approval and work authorization from International Services before starting an internship.

The student is responsible to:

  • Complete necessary prerequisites for the internship experience.
  • Find an internship/job opportunity.
  • Read the instructions.
  • Go to the BYU-Idaho Internship site and complete the Initial Internship Approval paperwork as outlined under the Internship Approvals tab.
  • Ensure employer/internship provider registers online and signs the Master Internship Agreement with BYU-Idaho.
  • When the internship is approved, the BYU-Idaho Internship Office will send you an email letting you know you can register yourself for the internship.
  • If a student doesn't complete his or her homework assignments, he or she will not pass the internship and therefore not be eligible to graduate.
