Housing Availability Challenges
This fall, we're excited to welcome around 25,000 students—a fantastic 9% increase from last year! While we're thrilled to have more students joining our campus community, we're facing a housing challenge with demand currently exceeding available spots.
Search Available Housing
The following resources can help students find housing options in the Rexburg area.
Housing for 18-25
Approved housing serves single students ages 18–25. Approved housing is near campus, furnished, includes utilities, and aligns with student wards. To live in approved housing, you must be a BYU-Idaho student.
Housing for Married or 26+
Community Housing serves single students aged 26+ and married students. This page does not represent a complete list of all available housing options; BYU-Idaho does not endorse any community housing complex.
Additional Steps You Can Take
The Housing Office suggests the following actions to help students find housing options for the Fall Semester.
Join Waitlists
Many housing properties have waitlists. If you join a waitlist, they’ll contact you when a spot becomes available.
Check each property's website for more information.

Join the BYUI Notification List
When BYU-Idaho hears about an available bed in approved housing, you’ll be notified so you can reach out to the property directly.

Consider Taking Fall Semester Classes Online
If you are not able to find housing for Fall semester or prefer to live at home, you can still remain enrolled as a BYU-Idaho student by taking online courses.
1. Resolve Holds
Make sure to resolve any holds on your account so you can register.
2. Choose Online Classes
In the registration system, select an online option for all your Fall Semester classes.
