Apply your Education

An internship is a powerful way to explore possible career paths and apply your education to real life situations. It is exhilarating to work in the field, shoulder-to-shoulder with construction professionals.

Firms visit the Department of Design and Construction Management every week of the semester to recruit students for internship positions. If you are trying to find an internship, visit the Find An Internship section of the BYU-Idaho Internship webpage for more help.

Two internships are required for all Design and Construction Management students. It is suggested that students give prayerful consideration to the type of firm and industry they work for, as 80% of our students receive job offers during their second internship.

Getting Approved

All Construction Management internships must be pre-approved and registered for before a student begins their internship experience. To be approved, students need to complete necessary prerequisites and complete an internship approval form on I-Plan. After approval, a master agreement will be emailed to the internship provider. It is then the student's responsibility to ensure that their internship provider signs and submits the master agreement to I-plan. More detailed information about this process can be found on the BYU-Idaho Internship webpage, under the Get Your Internship Approved section.
