Christmas Tree Lane

Christmas tree lane is as longstanding tradition that has existed for decades. The first citation of Christmas Tree Lane is listed in the book The Spirit of Ricks. It states that President Marion G. Romney visited campus and walked through Christmas Tree Lane on December 12,1972.

BYU-Idaho Christmas decoration

2025 Christmas Tree Lane Theme- Symbols of Christmas

From stars, shepherds, and angels to snow globes, candy canes, and poinsettias', each represent a symbol of Christmas, with countless others left unlisted. Participating organizations should choose a symbol of Christmas as the core decoration theme for your tree.

  • Choose a symbol of Christmas and bring it to life through your tree decorations.
  • Take into a consideration the award categories listed at the bottom of this document when decorating.

Registration

To participate Register Online.

  • On the form be sure to specify: 1) tree height preference (9’ or 7’); 2) Christmas movie or show you are using to decorate your tree with; and 3) the number of employees and students in your office (this is to help us to know the quantity of treats to provide).
  • Organizations will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis.
  • Duplications of the same movie or show are not allowed. Contact Allen Jones for help with exceptions.
