Technicians and Designers
A number of technicians and designers are needed in every on-campus theatre production. Under the direction of faculty and professional artists, students work backstage, in the shops, as design assistants, technicians, researchers, or stage managers on all productions.
While the majority of the technical crew for mainstage productions is selected from members of technical theatre classes, additional assistance is always welcome. If you are interested in helping with upcoming theatre productions, please stop by the Theatre Office in Snow 126.
In addition to the hands-on requirements for many classes and labs, there are a few paid positions in our theatre production shops as carpenters, welders, stitchers, painters, electricians and other technical jobs. Additionally, you may consider working as a teaching assistant, an office assistant or librarian in the script library. These positions are limited and quite competitive. Watch the student employment website for openings.
