Approved Clothing Policies
When using facilities, patrons must wear the approved shirt. No cut-off or rolled-up sleeved shirts. If shorts are worn, they must be approved shorts. Pants must adhere to the pants policy. Clean closed-toe shoes are required.
Approved rental clothing can only be rented for day use. Clothing rental is $3 for student and faculty. Clothing rental is included in the cost of a day pass for visitors. Items may not be kept overnight. Collateral (such as keys, driver's license, or cellphone) will be requested if approved clothing is rented to ensure that everything is returned.
If pants are not in compliance with the following guidelines, you will be asked to change.

Women's suits must cover the stomach, (tankini's and one piece suits are permitted. No bikinis). Men's suits must sit at the waist (no briefs or speedos). Jammers are permitted.
Outdoor Facilities Policies
Please do not use grass fields immediately after heavy rain so the fields are not damaged. Please do not enter fields that have the entry gate locked.
- No unauthorized vehicles allowed on track and field. Fireworks or flammable materials are prohibited. No foods, seeds, gum or colored drinks are allowed on field. No animals, golfing, or metal cleats.
- Fields are reserved for university use. They are closed on Sundays.
- If the lights on the fields need to be turned on, please contact the Hart Equipment Room. Lights will automatically turn off at 11:30PM.
Modest exercise clothing is required. Shoes must be worn at all times.

Non-Student Usage Policies
Community Patrons may use the facilities (except for the Fitness Center) as long as they pay for their use.
Alumni may use the facilities (except for the Fitness Center) as long as they pay for a day pass.

Student (Matriculating)/Student Spouse and Dependents:
- Student status begins one week prior to their first day of classes. Student status is active both on and off track. Student status is revoked if the student is suspended from the university.
- Student Spouse - must be legally married to a matriculating BYU-Idaho student and must have a valid I-Card.
- Student dependents must register for services and also get an I-Card. The student must be present when registering a dependent.
- Non-matriculating students are considered to be non-degree-seeking students and are considered community patrons. They must purchase a day pass to use the facility.
- Continuing Education students are considered community patrons.
- Online students are considered community patrons.
- Full-time employees are current faculty, staff, and administrators of BYU-Idaho and are eligible for DMBA health/retirement benefits.
- An employee spouse has to be legally married to a BYU-Idaho employee and must have a valid I-Card.
- Dependents are defined as children who are living at home and who are eligible for DMBA coverage under the employee's insurance. Children 8 years old and older must have a valid I-Card.
- Employees who are employed less than 3/4 time are not eligible for DMBA health/retirement benefits.
- Services are free to the employee, but spouses and dependents are considered community patrons and must get a guest pass.
- A retired faculty, staff, or administrator of BYU-Idaho.
- Retired employee spouses must be legally married to a retiree of BYU-Idaho to use facilities.
- Dependents are defined as children who are living at home and/or who are eligible for DMBA coverage under the employee's insurance. Children 8 years old and older must have a valid I-Card.
Dependent Policies
Services are free to the employee, but spouse and dependents are considered community patrons and must get a guest pass.
- Student dependents must register for services at the Records and Registration Office. The student must be present when registering a dependent.
- Dependent will need Full Name, email, phone number for guardian, and birthdate.
- Picture and a waiver to be signed again by the guardian.
- Full-time employee dependents and retired employee dependents are defined as children who are living at home and who are eligible for DMBA coverage under the employee's insurance. Children 8 years and older must have a valid I-Card in order to use the facilities.
- Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Children under the age of 8 are not required to wear the approved clothing.
- Children under the age of 13 cannot use the fitness center.
- Children from ages 13-16 must be accompanied by an adult in order to use the fitness center.
- Children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian in the pool. The adult must be in the water with the child.
- A student spouse must be legally married to a matriculating BYU-Idaho student and must have a valid I-Card.
- An employee spouse or retired employee spouse must be legally married to a BYU-Idaho employee or retired employee and must have a valid I-Card.
Wrestling Room Policies
- Sparring is not allowed on campus.
- Approved exercise clothing must be worn at all times during open recreation. Classes may have different clothing options.
- All patrons must go to the Hart Equipment room to check in and receive a stamp before using the Wrestling Room.
Court Usage Policies
Each patron must check in to the Hart Building or I-Center to receive a stamp before using the facilities. This is to ensure that they are a student/faculty member and that they are allowed to play for free. Patrons using the Fitness Center now check in with their fingerprints. They may choose to check in at the desk with their I-Number if they don't want to add their fingerprints.
No outside teams are allowed to practice on BYUI court spaces. Court usage is reserved for students, faculty, and BYU-Idaho approved activities and events only.
Courts, if not reserved, are on a first serve basis for open recreation use only. To be eligible to reserve a court, you must be an organized on-campus group (i.e. Large ward activities (not Home Evening groups), Societies, Student Activities, etc.). To reserve a court, you must contact the Scheduling Office.
Equipment and clothing can only be rented for day use. Items may not be kept overnight.
Music is only allowed if it is in personal headphones. Patrons cannot play music on a speaker during open recreation.

Fitness Center Policies
Ages 13-16 require parental supervision. Children under 13 years of age are not allowed to use the Fitness Center. Babies and infants must be constrained in a car seat or stroller, and they are only allowed in the cardio area.
Patrons must wear the approved exercise clothing at all times when using the Fitness Center. Patrons need to bring an extra pair of shoes in the winter time. The chemicals in ice melt products can ruin our equipment.
Personal equipment is not allowed in the Fitness Center. There are lockers provided to keep personal things locked up.
Equipment is not allowed to be taken out of the Fitness Center. Do not drop weights on non-platform surfaces, as it breaks our equipment. Patrons are required to re-rack weights and return all equipment to its proper location after use. When lifting weights, end collars must be used on free weights. Patrons must use a spotter for all lifts where they may need assistance. Only liquid chalk is permitted. Other chalk can cause damage to our equipment. Turn off equipment when not in use. Report any malfunctioning or damaged equipment to the Fitness Center staff.
Taking photos or videos in any of the recreational facilities is allowed with permission from anyone who may be in the photo/video or in the background of the photo/video. Bullying or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated, and offenders will have their facilities privileges revoked.

Swimming Pool Policies
- All swimwear must be modest in coverage, style, and cut. Fabrics and colors must not be transparent or revealing.
- Women's suits must cover the stomach.
- Swim shorts and shirts may be worn over your suit. No basketball shorts/approved exercise shorts.
- Men's suits must sit at the waist (No briefs). Jammers that go down to the knee are allowed.
- All swimmers using their own suits during open swim times must check in at the Hart Equipment Room (Hart 214).
Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. The adult must be in the water with the child. (The adult cannot just watch from the deck) Infants must wear swim diapers.
Equipment allowed during open swim: balls, noodles, kickboards, and pull buoys. Life jackets can be provided. Fins are only allowed during lap swim.
Lap swim is scheduled from 5am - 7am Monday - Saturday. The pool is closed for devotional from 11:30am - 12:30pm every Tuesday. Closed for lifeguard inservice from 11:30am - 12:30pm every Thursday.
- No glass containers or food in the pool. Water in plastic containers is acceptable.
- Lane lines should be the responsibility of the faculty or group using the pool. Lifeguards can assist and supervise, but should not be left alone with the job as their primary responsibility is the safety of the swimmers.
- No one is allowed in equipment room except faculty, lifeguards and swim coaches. No one is allowed in guard room except faculty and lifeguards.
- Do not distract the lifeguard on duty.
- All swimmers must take a cleansing shower before entering the pool.
- Do not use the pool if you have an open wound or an infectious disease.
- Please be courteous to other swimmers and do not spit or spout water from your mouth or blow your nose in the pool.
- No running or rough play allowed.
- Use of flotation devices is restricted to children under 8 years of age who are under direct supervision of an adult.
- The pool must be immediately closed in cases of fecal contamination or blood release.
- All accidents and injuries must be reported to the lifeguard or responsible person on duty and the BYU-Idaho Safety Office.
- No unsupervised use of the pool is allowed.
- If you are subject to seizures or have a handicap, please notify the lifeguard before entering the pool.
- Swimmers must be able to swim one length of the pool in order to use the diving board.
- Only forward motion dives, jumps or flips are permitted.
- Inwards, reverses and back dives are not permitted.
- Only one diver is permitted on the diving board at a time.
- No rough play or running on the diving board.
- Dives or jumps must be performed straight off the board, not to the side.
- After diving, swimmers must clear the diving area.
- Lifeguards may restrict diving privileges if they deem the use of the board to be unsafe.
Pricing
The facilities are free of charge for students and employees. Guests of students or employees may purchase a Guest of Student Pass for $4. The employee or student must accompany their guest when purchasing the pass to obtain the discounted price and while they use the facilities.
Community Patrons may use the facilities (except for the Fitness Center) by purchasing a Day Pass for $6 in Equipment Room (Hart 214).
Alumni may use the facilities (except the Fitness Center) by purchasing a Day Pass for $6 or a guest of a student pass for $4 in the Equipment Room (Hart 214).
All visitors have the option of purchasing a punch pass. A 10-punch pass is $40 and a 25-punch pass is $100. Alumni punch passes are offered at a discounted rate. A 10-punch Alumni pass is $30 and a 25-punch Alumni pass is $75.

Locker Room Policies
Towels are free to use, but cannot be taken from the locker room. They may not be stored in lockers. When finished, patrons should return them to the bin that is provided.
Student Locker Room: Locker Rentals are $10 per semester. Students must provide their own lock. Please see Equipment Center for any questions regarding lockers.
Employee Locker Room: Locker Rentals are $10 per semester. You may reserve multiple semesters in advance. Locks will be provided for employees.

Indoor Track Policies
Patrons who are walking around the track may do so in "classroom attire" as long as they are walking. If they are running, they need to be in approved exercise clothing. From 5 am-7:30 am, the I-Center track may be used free of charge for community members. However, the patrons must still wear the approved BYU-Idaho clothing. Shoes must be worn at all times on the track for sanitation.
The indoor track is open from 5am-11:30pm Monday - Saturday. It closes for devotional every Tuesday from 11:30am-12:30pm. We ask that all patrons wear the Approved Exercise Clothing.

- Do no stand on the track to watch sports below.
- Monday & Tuesday traffic moves clockwise.

These lockers, located on the stretching area of the indoor track in the I-Center are for day use only. They will be emptied when the building closes for the night.
