Rationale for Selection of Indicators: Most of the Core Theme indicators were selected after a robust discussion in University Council on February 28, 2017. Although there have been some minor changes and modifications to those indicators following regular and ongoing discussions in the President’s Council and University Council meetings, the overall set of indicators has served us well. All of the key indicators were selected from a larger list of metrics included on the Institutional Dashboard.

Additional Information: BYU-Idaho Learning Outcomes

Source: Mapped from program review data
Expectation: At least 75 percent proficient or distinguished for each institutional outcome.
Status: As of the 2022 update, all ILOs were assessed above the target expectation of 75% and have been designated as meeting expectation.
Notes: These percentages reflect the most current outcomes assessment data collected from academic departments during program review and annual status updates.  In Spring Semester 2020, new BYU-Idaho Learning Outcome rubrics were piloted and more courses will begin using the new rubrics each semester in Fall 2020 and beyond.  We anticipate a more useful assessment of the BYU-Idaho Learning Outcomes and ongoing focused conversations about how we as an institution can improve student learning in each of these critical areas.

Key Indicators for Objective 2 - Student Experience

Summary

The indicators suggest that BYU-Idaho is successfully meeting or close to meeting expectations for core theme two and its objectives.  Common rubrics for assessing the institutional student learning outcomes are currently being developed and implemented to help provide more consistent measures of student learning outcome attainment.
