Dance Alliance

Female Dancer

Dance Alliance is a unique company comprised of 35 students from Brigham Young University-Idaho. These students strive for excellence in both dance and life as they develop their talents and become unified in a praiseworthy endeavor. Dance Alliance distinguishes itself through its varied repertoire of genres including ballet, jazz, contemporary, swing, tap, ballroom, American folk, and world dance.

One main goal of Dance Alliance is to uplift and inspire audiences who experience the performances. Founded in 1978, Dance Alliance has regularly performed throughout the world in such countries as Austria, Ukraine, Mexico, Canada, Ecuador, and New Zealand, as well as in nearly all 50 states. In July 2015, they took their talents to Costa Rica and Panama. The company will soon be participating in a two week tour of cities in Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.

A primary goal of the troupe is to uplift and inspire audiences through the language of dance, a language that communicates and can be understood by all. The company strives to keep their music, costumes, and choreography in harmony with the 13th Article of Faith which states, "Anything that is virtuous, lovely or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things."

"Inspired art speaks in the language of eternity, teaching things to the heart that the eyes and ears can never understand." -Elder M. Russell Ballard
