Internship Approval Process

  1. Student
    • Find Internship
    • Complete Approval Form on Career Navigator
      • Log on to Career Navigator with your NetID and password (that you use to log in to your My BYUI account). You will be asked to complete a few profile questions if you have never logged in to Career Navigator before.
      • Click on Internships in the QuickLinks menu on the home page.
      • Click Add New.
      • Enter necessary information and submit.
    • Notify experience provider that they must submit a master agreement.
  2. Experience Provider
    • Log on to Career Navigator and submit a master agreement.
  3. Academic Discovery Center
    • Emails faculty coordinator for approval.
  4. Faculty Coordinator
    • Reviews and may request additional information.
    • Approves and notifies ADC noting number of credits.
  5. Academic Discovery Center
    • Authorizes student to add the course and notifies student
  6. Student
    • Registers for course after receiving authorization emails.
  7. Bursars Office
    • Charges class fee as follows:
      Internship credits are exempt from tuition charges.  However, there is a class fee.  The fee is equal to ½ the current credit-hour tuition rate and is charged  for each credit of an internship course.  Fees are charged independently of tuition.
