As part of earning an associate’s or bachelor’s degree, all BYU–Idaho students are required to complete Foundations requirements. Once your official transcripts are evaluated and processed, you will be able to view which Foundations requirements are met, and which requirements still need to be completed through your Degree Audit. The following resource will show you how your transfer courses should come across in meeting Foundations requirements:
It is important to note: The above tool does not replace your official transcript evaluation; but rather serves as a guideline for how your transfer credit should meet BYU–Idaho requirements.
General Education Changes
BYU-Idaho will be changing its Foundations program to a General Education (GE) program starting in the Spring 2019 Semester. This change will affect all new students and many current students. One of the primary highlights of the GE program is the flexibility it gives students to take degree-specific courses in their first and second semesters. Because of this, students will be able to explore their chosen major sooner to determine if it is a good fit for them.
