Get Involved with the Student Leadership Council

All SLC members serve in volunteer positions chosen through an application and interview process. They commit to serving an entire semester and fulfilling assigned office hours according to their position. In addition, they sit on administrative councils, which meet at different times throughout the week.

We would love to have you volunteer with us! The Student Leadership Council is looking for new volunteers every semester! Volunteers help us to host and promote events and activities, promote the mission of BYU-Idaho, and gain hands-on experience in building their own disciple leadership. If you are looking to be more involved on campus and want to feel like you belong, then come volunteer with the SLC!

Administrative Council Representative
Volunteers attend various administrative councils throughout campus which are comprised of students, faculty, and administrators. These volunteers represent the student perspective in those meetings, take notes to report back to the Student Leadership Council, and help to develop ideas to assist in the solving of complex campus issues.

Outreach and Recruitment
Volunteers experience the power of invitation by helping to put up and pass out media such as posters and fliers while talking about opportunities at BYU-Idaho. They exhibit the courage to start conversations to invite students to attend SLC events and activities while promoting the unique culture of BYU-Idaho.

Social Media Creators
Volunteers use their creative skills and talents to discuss social media strategy, design concepts and create new media to promote the SLC and the mission of BYU-Idaho. Their work is generally displayed on the SLC Instagram and campus TVs.
